A Little Piece of Me Went Missing & A Gamer’s Rant

a-little-piece-of-me-went-missing-a-gamers-rant

I hate to be the first to admit it, but when Robby is away I do become very despondent and incapable of doing anything other than moping around. It’s very debilitating and I hate it, but I guess in a lot of aspects, I’ve come to accept it as it is.

I think part of my separation anxiety is due largely in part as to how I grew up. My dad was in the Navy for 20 years and it wasn’t uncommon for him to go on cruises for 6 months at the very least and I suppose because of that, I find myself unable to deal with separation from Robby. Despite it all, I still push myself past the overwhelming need to just curl up in bed and not move until he gets back, but it’s not easy.

On another note, I want to thank Tawni for busting her ass on this amazingly fabulous layout. I wish I still had the creativity I had years ago to be able to come up with a concept for a layout, but sadly it seems that is lost to me. I envy her ability to take a color scheme and create a brillant concept from it. I wish I still had the ability to do the same. :( Even still I adore the layout and I hope you do as well. If anything needs to be changed at all, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do to make a few changes.

On a more rant related note (those who are gamers will appreciate this), I was in a PUG today in Aion, helping my little sister out because they had lost their Cleric and things were going well until the final boss. We had 2 templars, a Chanter, a Ranger, and a Cleric. The boss dropped a pretty sweet staff which was an upgrade from mine that everyone passed on except myself, my sister, and one of the templars which was bullshit. Everyone who didn’t have any use for the staff passed except for the dip shit templar who when I asked if I could have the staff, asked for a helm which I passed on because I didn’t need it. So the other templar who won the helm fair and square and had commented previously about how Mr. Jackass Templar shouldn’t have rolled on it was nice enough to tell Mr. Jackass Templar to give me the staff and he’d give him the helm he won.

Shortly after that, Mr. Awesome Templar ended up hearthing and then logging out because he was upset and with damn good reason. So I pretty much have decided never to group with Mr. Jackass Templar because I fucking cannot stand assholes who don’t know how to play the game appropriately. Other gamers, your thoughts? Would you have rolled on something when you saw that two of your party members clearly had use for it and you didn’t?

Well now that I’m done ranting and raving about that, it’s time for me to call it a night. I have a full day of work tomorrow and I need to get back on a decent schedule. G’nite!

Rolling on loot that you don’t need but other people do is a HUGE no no in my book. First time gets you warned. Second time gets you booted from the group / blocked by at least me. I can’t stand that shit.

Happened to me last night as well ironically. Was playing my warlock in WoW, in a pug going through Scarlet Monastery Cathedral when the Whitmane’s Chapeau drops off the final boss. Cloth, caster piece (good for healers as well). Me, the mage and the priest healer roll need on it – and who else? The plate wearing tank -___- Who wins it? The plate wearing tank -___- To say I was pissed off is an understatement so yep, I definitely see where you are coming from. Some people are assholes just to be assholes unfortunately :( Hopefully you get in there again and are able to get the staff!

@Shawna: Yeah, my little sister was pretty upset. So we’re getting run it again to try and get the templar his helm (he’s in our Legion) and my sis the staff. :P

Argh yeah, PUGs are always risky when an upgrade drops. You never know who’s gonna be a giant douche and roll need on something they don’t even need, and win it! Infuriating to say the least. :(

It’s for this reason Aion should adopt the Need/Greed style rolling. I was elated when WoW implemented that feature. But yeah.. I completely agree with you and I feel terribly about Mukatil giving up his helm since that douchebag wouldn’t give up a damn staff he’d never even use. UGH. Yeah and this is the same moron who tried to tell ME how to play the game. Sit the hell down. Ugh!

On a brighter note. This new layout is sexy. I need to commission Tawni for another one someday. I love mine but I need something new! And I, like you, have fallen so far behind on the webdesign spectrum and I just couldn’t even begin to create something as amazing as the stuff Tawni comes up with! :D

@Angie: Yeah, hopefully Aion will implement it soon, but it did take WoW a long time to implement that so we’ll see. *crosses fingers*

OMFG I love the new layout! I came directly to your site earlier this afternoon when I finally got back online and was BLOWN AWAY. It’s AMAZING and I’m so jealous. Tawni is definitely VERY talented and boy do I wish she’d design a theme for me lol. So… yes, it’s awesome. :)
